Styles and occasions
  • **Warm watercolour storybook**: soft washes and gentle faces. Our default, and the softest for grandparents.
  • **Indian picture-book colour**: bright flat colours and rounded shapes, like the books on a child's shelf.
  • **Cartoon caricature**: big heads, big smiles, made for superhero Papa and coupon books.
  • **Madhubani-inspired line art**: fine lines and folk borders for the Rakhi and Bhai Dooj editions.
  • **Drawn by the kids**: a crayon look, as if the children made every page themselves.
  • **Photo and doodle collage**: your real photos with hand-drawn doodles, for anyone who would rather not have illustrated faces.
Mother's Day, second Sunday of May
The kids tell Mumma why she is the best. Order print a couple of weeks early; the digital book can be made right up to the morning. Here is how to make one with your kids.
Father's Day, third Sunday of June
Papa the superhero, with his worst jokes and best piggyback rides. Little ones who can't write yet can still help: ideas for a gift from a toddler.
Raksha Bandhan, usually in August
A sibling-to-sibling book. The date follows the lunar calendar, and how the day is marked varies by family, region and community. If your brother or sister lives abroad, order print early or send the digital book.
Bhai Dooj, usually two days after Diwali
Also known as Bhau Beej, Bhai Phonta and Bhai Tika, and how it is marked varies by family, region and community. Printers are busy around Diwali, so the digital book is the safe choice.
Summer at Nani's or Dadi's, April to June
Made at the end of the holidays, about everything that happens only at Nani's house. More gift ideas for Nani.
Grandparents' Day and Daughter's Day, September
A book your family makes at home for Nani or Dadi, to take along to a school Grandparents' Day or to open that morning. The date varies by school. Daughter's Day is usually the fourth Sunday of September, and a book from Papa or Mumma to a daughter fits that day too.
Birthdays, all year
Mumma's, Papa's, Didi's or Bhai's everyday birthdays. A 60th birthday or a parents' anniversary has its own milestone book.
Just because
Living far apart, a hard year, or a thank-you that is long overdue.

Questions parents ask

Is it really free?

Making the book and saving the PDF is free. Printing is optional and paid, and we confirm the price and delivery date by email before you pay.

What happens to my photos?

Photo books are laid out on your device and the photos never leave it. For illustrated books, up to three photos are used once to draw the character and then deleted. See privacy.

When can I make one, and what does it cost?

We are opening in batches and have not set a date yet. Your digital book is free. Printed books are paid, by size, from a small card-book to a hardcover: see prices below.

Will Mumma and the kids really look like themselves?

We draw each person from the face photos you pick, and keep the details that make them who they are: skin tone, hair, specs, a bindi or a beard. You see the cover portrait first, and any page can be redrawn for free. A person checks the faces again on every print order.

What if we don't like it?

You see the whole book before anything is printed or paid for. Redraw a face, swap a photo, or ask for a line to be shorter, funnier or in Hindi. Skipped questions are highlighted so nothing slips in that your family did not say. If a printed book arrives with a print defect, we reprint it.

Ready to make yours?

Free to make. You see every page before you save it.
