About this book

There is no editor and no layout to fight with. We sort what you pick by the date each photo was taken, place naamkaran, annaprashan and first festivals in their month, and show you the full book to check before anything is printed.

Order a printed hardcover, with copies for Dadi and Nani, whenever you are ready.

Page by page
  1. Cover and name page

Your baby's name on the cover, with the pet name you use at home if you like. You choose from three cover options, for example Ira's First Year: 12 Months of Little Firsts.

  2. Meet the family

A page for everyone baby has met, with what baby calls them: Mumma, Papa, Dadi, Nana, Bua, Masi and the rest. Names come from the chips you tap.

  3. Twelve monthly chapters

Month one starts with the hospital, coming home and the first visitors. Each month opens with a title page, such as Month 4, and the one word you picked for that stage, such as sleepy, curious or foodie, then the best photos from that month with short captions.

  4. Ceremonies and festivals in their month

If your family had a naamkaran, annaprashan, mundan or a first Diwali, Lohri or Eid, it gets its own spread in the right month. Captions use the words you give us, because practice varies by family, region and community.

  5. Little firsts

First smile, first food, first steps and any other firsts you tell us about, set against the photos from that week. It records your baby's own moments, not a chart to measure them against.

  6. Videos as stills, with a QR

  7. Twelve months on one page

One photo from each month side by side, so you can see the whole year change in a single spread.

  8. The moment and the letter

The questions we ask
  1. What is your baby's first name? Any pet name at home?
  2. How old is your baby now? (tap: under 6 months, 6 to 12 months, around one, over one)
  3. Who is in the family? Tap everyone baby has met (Mumma, Papa, Dadi, Dada, Nani, Nana, Bua, Masi, Chacha, Mama, siblings) and add names
  4. Which language should the captions be in? English, Hindi or Hinglish
  5. Pick one word for each stage, or skip: newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months (sleepy, smiley, curious, naughty, foodie...)
  6. Which of these happened this year? Tap any or skip: naamkaran, annaprashan, mundan, first festival, first trip

Questions parents ask

Is it really free?

Making the book and saving the PDF is free. Printing is optional and paid, and we confirm the price and delivery date by email before you pay.

What happens to my photos?

Photo books are laid out on your device and the photos never leave it. For illustrated books, up to three photos are used once to draw the character and then deleted. See privacy.

Do you need my baby's date of birth?

No. We ask for a first name and an age band, never a date of birth. The monthly chapters come from the dates on the photos you pick, and you can move any photo to a different month in the preview.

My baby is already past one. Is it too late?

Not at all. The book works from the photos you pick, so you can make it at 14 months or at 3 years. Many parents start a few weeks before the first birthday, but there is no deadline.

Will the book compare my baby to milestone charts?

No. The little firsts page records the moments you tell us about, in your words. Every child develops at their own pace, so we never grade or score them. For general information on typical milestones, see our month by month milestones guide, and ask your paediatrician about your own child.
