About

Stirrup is a lightweight Python framework and starting template for agents. The model chooses its own approach to a task instead of following a fixed workflow, and built-in tools cover web search and fetch, code execution locally, in Docker or in an E2B sandbox, and file input and output. It includes an MCP client, a skills system, a built-in user input tool for human feedback, automatic summarization of long conversations, and OpenAI-compatible APIs through OpenRouter or LiteLLM. A TypeScript implementation, StirrupJS, is maintained separately.
