About

The OpenAI Agents SDK defines agents as LLMs configured with instructions, tools, guardrails and handoffs to other agents. It also covers sandbox agents, realtime and voice agents, human-in-the-loop steps, session-based conversation history and tracing of runs. It works with the OpenAI Responses and Chat Completions APIs and with other LLMs. It is the production-oriented successor to OpenAI's earlier Swarm experiment.
