About

copperhead is a command-line agent for hardware design that creates a board from a natural-language brief, covering spec, architecture, schematic, layout, gerbers and a firmware scaffold, or edits an existing KiCad repository with copperhead do. It runs kicad-cli electrical and design-rule checks to verify its own work and keeps markdown design docs as memory. It can use a local Codex CLI or Cursor Agent or Claude Code login, or an Anthropic or OpenAI API key, and copperhead check runs without an LLM.
